Face-Off Training
LOCATION: THE HEIGHTS SCHOOL
Gr. 3rd-12th | Mon- Thurs | 4:00-5:00 PM | August 7 – 10 | $200 |
Considered one of the most important roles on a team, a face-off specialist has the unique ability to change and control the momentum of a game. It is a position that requires strength, speed, and a chess-like ability to identify and counter the moves of an opposing specialist. Our coaches will teach these requirements while focusing on proper technique, stance, hand speed, endurance, moves (clamp, jam, lazer, rake, etc.), and counter-moves. Few things are more valuable for a face-off specialist than getting tons of repetitions, and this clinic will provide both individual and live reps so that each player can practice the coach’s instruction immediately.
*Prerequisites: 1+ years of lacrosse experience and full equipment (helmet, mouth guard, shoulder pads, arm pads, gloves, and stick).
*If inclement weather forces us to cancel a clinic session, we will send an email at least 60 minutes prior to the clinic start time
*If thunderstorms roll through during a clinic and a parent’s car is not present, clinic participants and coaches will take cover in front of the gym at The Heights, under a very large concrete porch.
*As long as 3 of the 4 of the sessions are held, we will not issue a credit (makeups will be offered when possible)
*If less than 3 of the sessions are held, we will offer a prorated credit to all clinic participants
