Girls Skills – Level 1 is the first step in becoming a terrific lacrosse player!
Girls Skills – Level 2 is specifically designed for those players who have participated in Level 1.
Level 1 will focus solely on the fundamentals of the game with a primary emphasis on stick skills (scooping, cradling, throwing, catching and shooting) and beginning to understand game play. Learning proper technique is absolutely vital at this age and these small class sizes allow for personal instruction so the players can identify and practice the correct form both in the clinic and at home until it becomes habitual.
Level 2 will build upon the techniques taught in Level 1 as well as introduce more advanced concepts such as dodging (split, roll, and switch), offensive movements (cutting, crease rolls), proper shooting mechanics (where to place hands, feel, arms), and basic defensive principles (body/stick positioning, crashing). Coaches will help develop players through individual skills development, an increase in understanding of team offensive and defensive schemes, and mastery of the game rules.
*Required Experience: Level 1 – None
Level 2 – Completion of Level 1 and/or at least 1.5+ FULL years of lacrosse
*Required Equipment: Regulation girls lacrosse stick, goggles, and mouth guard.
