Hugh Preas grew up in Rockville, Maryland, graduating from St. Albans in 2018. He started his lacrosse career at a very early age, and after attending Mater Dei, Hugh went to St. Albans where he was a three year defensive starter, and was All-IAC in 2018. While at St. Albans, Hugh was a a member of the varsity basketball team and a member of the student council.

Hugh received many offers to play college lacrosse, but decided to attend Emory University and play golf instead.  Hugh graduated from Emory University in 2022 with a degree in Economics. While at Emory, Hugh was the President of the Club Golf program for 3 years, and began his coaching career at St. Albans while his school moved online in his junior year.

In 2021, he was an assistant for the 7th grade, JV, and Varsity team at St. Albans, and he continued as a volunteer assistant in the 2022 season while finishing school in Atlanta.  He also coached for Next Level’s Travel Program for multiple summers in a row, and he has quickly become a “favorite coach” among the boys.

Currently, Hugh works as an analyst for a boutique investment firm based out of Washington, D.C., and he is very excited to continue coaching and growing the game of lacrosse in the DMV for years to come.
