John Schiavone


Face-off Development

Coach Schiavone was a three-sport athlete at Our Lady of Good Counsel (football, diving & lacrosse).  In lacrosse, he earned All-Conference First Team, All-Area First Team and Washington Post All-Metro Honorable Mention in 2006.  He was an All-Conference Second Team selection in 2005.  After graduating from Good Counsel, Coach Schiavone attended, and played lacrosse, for Loyola University.  As a sophomore, he established himself as one of the top faceoff specialists in the nation.  He finished fourth in NCAA Division I with a .587 faceoff winning percentage, leading the ECAC in the statistical category.  He also earned All-ECAC Second Team honors.  As a junior, he continued his dominance earning USILA All-America Honorable Mention and was named to the All-ECAC First Team as a specialist.  He won 166-of-277 restarts (.599), good for sixth-best in the nation and second amongst players on teams who reached the NCAA Tournament.  As a senior, he earned preseason All-ECAC and preseason All-America Honorable Mention from Face-Off Yearbook.
