Coaches

Ginger Schwarz

Ginger is a 2021 graduate from American University where she received her Bachelor’s in Computer Science. She is also currently getting her Master’s in Computer Science. In high school, Ginger was a 4-year varsity starter and 3-year captain of her schools in Manhattan Beach, California, and Mequon, Wisconsin. She was also captain of her travel team MKE Elite her junior year of high school. Ginger was the founder, president, and captain of American University’s Club Lacrosse team since 2019. She still plays on the team as a Grad student and is a starting Midfielder. In 2018, Ginger started coaching JV girls lacrosse in her hometown at Homestead High School. She was also an assistant Varsity coach. Ginger is beyond excited to be a part of the team at Next Level!

Hillary Nylen

Hillary grew up in Bethesda, MD where she played lacrosse and field hockey in High School. Her family moved to Olney, MD her Junior year where she played varsity lacrosse for 2 years at Sherwood High School. In her freshman year of college, she played D-3 field Hockey at Gwynedd-Mercy College in Gwynedd Valley, PA.  After her freshman year, she moved back to MD where she transferred to The University of Maryland. She graduated from UMD with her Bachelors’s in Family Science.

She currently lives in Bethesda, Md.  She is also a full-time mom to 4 kids, 2 girls and 2 boys. She loves teaching children all she can on and off the field. Before joining the Next Level team, she coached for OBGC 8u fast-pitch softball.  She is excited to share her passion for the game and love of staying active and fit! This is Hillary’s 5th year coaching for next level.

Rachel Howell

Rachel is in grad school at American University. She has been playing lacrosse since she was in 5th grade. She was born and raised in Seattle, Washington but now lives in DC full time. She played varsity lacrosse all throughout high school and was the captain of her varsity team her junior and senior year. Playing defense all throughout high school she was named Academic All-American by Washington State Lacrosse in her senior season and All Conference Defensive Player of the Year. Rachel currently plays for the American University club lacrosse team as a midfielder and has enjoyed getting to direct play on both ends of the field.

Rachel has coached youth lacrosse for many years and has always loved working with players to better their stick skills and vision of the game. She is excited to continue helping young players grow the game of lacrosse!
