Coaches

Phil Lipka

Coach Lipka is the Next Level 2031 Red Co-Head Coach and the Next Level 2033 Red Co-Head Coach.  He graduated from St. John’s College High School in 2009 where he was a member of the varsity lacrosse team for all four years.  After graduating from SJC, he attended Mount St. Mary’s University to continue his academic and lacrosse career.  While at the Mount, he was a member of the 2010 and 2011 NEC Conference Championship teams.  Coach Lipka was the Assistant Athletic Director (facilities and special events) at Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart and an Assistant Lacrosse Coach for the Junior Varsity team at Georgetown Prep for many years.  He then went on to be the Assistant Athletic Director and Associate Head Coach at DeMatha Catholic High School.  He is currently a teacher at Our Lady of Lourdes School in Bethesda, Maryland.

Pat Sheehan

Coach Pat Sheehan is currently the Co-Head Coach of the 2033 Red Team and an Assistant Coach for the 2037 Red Team. Coach Pat also recently completed his second season as the head coach of both the “Varsity” and “JV” teams at The Woods Academy.

Growing up with three older brothers who all played lacrosse, Pat was drawn to the sport at a young age. He began playing travel lacrosse at just five years old and competed for one of the most competitive lacrosse clubs in the area. After graduating from Holy Redeemer Elementary School, Pat continued playing lacrosse at Gonzaga College High School, where he graduated in 2019. He then went on to attend Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida.

Coach Pat is passionate about sharing his love for lacrosse with younger players, guiding them both as athletes and as individuals. Throughout middle school and high school, he served as a mentor in the “Leadership Training Program,” where he learned how to effectively communicate with and inspire youth to work toward their goals. In addition, Coach Pat helped organize and run numerous lacrosse and basketball camps throughout his summers.

Now entering his fifth year with Next Level, Coach Pat is committed to providing positive, constructive, and individualized attention to each of his players.
