Hugh Preas

Hugh Preas is a full-time Director for Next Level Lacrosse and is an Assistant Coach for the 2028 Blue, Co-Head Coach of 2034 Blue, and Co-Head Coach for the 2037 Blue teams.  Hugh grew up in Rockville, Maryland, graduating from St. Albans in 2018. He started his lacrosse career at a very early age, and after attending Mater Dei, Hugh went to St. Albans where he was a three year defensive starter, and earning All-IAC honors in 2018. While at St. Albans, Hugh was a member of the varsity basketball team and a member of the student council.

Hugh received several offers to play college lacrosse, but decided to attend Emory University and play golf instead.  Hugh graduated from Emory University in 2022 with a degree in Economics. While at Emory, Hugh was the President of the Club Golf program for 3 years, and he began his coaching career at St. Albans while his classes were remote junior year. Hugh has continued as the Defensive Coordinator at St. Albans since graduating college and will be entering his 5th season in that role.

Hugh started coaching with Next Level in the Spring of 2023 and started as a full-time director in the fall of 2025.

Greg McCavera

Greg McCavera is the co-Head Coach of the 2034 Next Level Blue team. Coach McCavera is a Long Island native and was a three-year varsity player at Lynbrook High School, earning All-League, All-County, All-American honors and was a member of the 1994 Empire State Lacrosse team.  At Georgetown University, he was a four-year starter, team captain, three-time All-American, and the first, 1^st team All-American in program history. In his senior year Coach McCavera led the Hoyas to Georgetown’s only final four appearance.  Coach McCavera is a member of the Georgetown University Athletic Hall of Fame and was named by Sport Illustrated as Georgetown University’s Top 10 Athletes of all time.  Following Coach McCavera’s college career, he was a member of the 2000 USA World Cup Team, played three seasons in the National Lacrosse League (NLL) for the Pittsburgh Crossfire and Washington Power as well as three years in Major Lacrosse Lease (MLL) for the Baltimore Bayhawks and the Long Island Lizards winning a MLL Championship with the Lizards in his final year.

Joey Kemp

Joey Kemp is an Assistant Coach for the 2034 Blue team and the assistant coach for the 2035 Blue Team. Coach Kemp was a four-year varsity player at Georgetown Prep, earning All-IAC, All-County, All-State, All-Met, and All-American honors. At the University of Notre Dame, he was a four-year starter, two-time captain, GWLL Player of the Year, three-time All-American, and the first goalie in program history to earn first team All-American honors. He capped his collegiate career with being named the recipient of the Kelly Award for Outstanding Goaltending in NCAA Division I. Coach Kemp went on to play five seasons in Major League Lacrosse (MLL) with the LA Riptide, Chicago Machine, and Chesapeake Bayhawks. Following the MLL, he coached at Georgetown Prep where he led the goalies and assisted the defense, helping those teams to top 10 rankings nationally. He has since continued coaching at the youth and club levels.

Evan Behr

Evan Behr is an assistant coach for the 2034 Blue Team. Prior to Next Level, Evan coached both 2033 and 2034 Bethesda Lacrosse Club teams. He grew up learning this great game outside of Philadelphia where he played both midfield and attack for La Salle College High School. Evan currently works in commercial real estate, resides in DC with his wife and four kids – both boys who are members of the Next Level Lacrosse Club.
